About the Australian Income Tax Calculator
Calculate Australian income tax for the 2026-27 financial year (1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027) for residents. Enter your taxable income in Australian dollars to see the tax, the low income tax offset, the Medicare levy and your income after tax.
From 1 July 2026 the rate on income between $18,201 and $45,000 falls from 16% to 15%.
How it is calculated
The first $18,200 is tax-free. Income from $18,201 to $45,000 is taxed at 15%, up to $135,000 at 30%, up to $190,000 at 37% and above that at 45%. The low income tax offset (up to $700) reduces the tax for incomes below $66,667.
The Medicare levy of 2% is added on top. People on low incomes pay a reduced levy or none, and high earners without private hospital cover may pay the Medicare levy surcharge – neither is included. Rates are for Australian residents; non-residents pay different rates.
